The Department of the Air Force is reshaping to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape. Central to this effort is our ability to design, test, and validate warfighting concepts in realistic digital environments. In this panel, key leaders will discuss how Modeling and Simulation, backed by robust analysis, are the crucibles for forging our competitive edge. This discussion will highlight how advanced M&S environments are foundational to developing the interconnected kill webs and autonomous systems required to deter our adversaries, a priority outlined in the Department’s latest posture statement. The conversation will focus on integrating these powerful digital tools across the air and space domains to accelerate capability development, foster innovation, and forge the force of the future.

The NATO Distributed Synthetic Training (DST) Capability will provide Allies with a persistent capability to regularly and frequently execute multi-national training and exercises in a secure, synthetic environment. In October 2025, Ministers of Defence from 14 nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a DST High Visibility Project (HVP). First, this brief will provide an overview of the NATO DST objectives and architecture, and highlight relations to critical efforts such M&S as a Service (MSaaS). Second, this brief will highlight the importance of including all warfighting domains into NATO DST, including Cyber and Space. Finally, this brief will summarize the way-ahead and options to get involved.

The brief will be augmented by perspectives from Air Force and Navy (tbc). Following the brief, the Chief Modeling and Simulation Officer (CMSO) and the Chair of the NATO Distributed Synthetic Training (DST) Capability High Visibility Project (HVP) will sign the agreement to include the United States as an Associated Member in this critical effort.

This presentation briefly discusses USSTRATCOM efforts to advance modeling tools to represent the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) at the campaign-level and challenges associated with this task. We then focus on one specific agentic AI tool – MAPPy.ai – as an approach to address challenges with the data layer. In particular, we focus on MAPPy.ai’s ability to assist in creating a common data layer between MS&A tools using SysML, and how we are adapting MAPPy.ai for SysML v2, as a means of accelerating MBSE adoption within the MS&A community.

Space Delta 10 serves as the U.S. Space Force’s center for doctrine development, wargaming, and lessons learned, operating under Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM). Through high-level simulations and strategic exercises, Delta 10 enables leaders to explore complex, real-world scenarios and “fight the war before the war,” generating insights that directly inform operational concepts, force design, and decision-making.

As the Space Force’s dedicated hub for wargaming, Delta 10 brings together expertise from across the joint force, interagency, allied partners, industry, and academia to test emerging ideas and technologies in a dynamic, low-risk environment. Its work integrates space operations with air, cyber, and terrestrial domains, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of modern conflict.

The insights developed by Delta 10 shape how the Space Force organizes, trains, and equips Guardians, while also influencing national security strategy and future capability development. For attendees, Delta 10 offers a unique window into how the U.S. is preparing for the challenges of a contested space domain—and how collaboration across sectors plays a critical role in that mission.
