Michael J. Garrity is the President and CEO of Aptima, Inc., a national security company, engineering innovative solutions that transform how individuals and teams train, develop, and perform. An industrial organizational psychologist, he has spent more than two decades at Aptima applying human performance science to complex military training and readiness challenges. A trusted advisor to DoD leaders, his expertise includes cognitive psychology, adaptive learning, human–machine teaming, and AI-enabled performance solutions. Since becoming CEO in 2024, Dr. Garrity has driven Aptima’s strategic growth from a research-focused organization to a provider of scalable, fielded technologies that enhance readiness, while fostering a culture grounded in scientific rigor, human-centered innovation, and people-first leadership. He holds a PhD in industrial organizational psychology from Clemson University.
