Dr. Stoddard was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in July, 2013, and currently serves as the Director of the Center for Army Analysis (CAA) and the Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO). Dr. Stoddard is responsible for directing the Army’s primary study program to inform strategic and operational decisions for the Army’s senior leaders. As Director of AMSO, he is responsible for the Army’s Modeling and Simulation strategy, governance, and policy. He also serves as the Executive Agent for the Army’s Functional Area 57 (Modeling & Simulation officers) and Career Program 36 (Analysis, Modeling & Simulation). His current efforts are focused on the Army’s structure, capabilities, capacity, and readiness to execute the National Defense Strategy. His previous SES positions included Deputy Director for Force Management in Department of the Army, G-3/5/7, and Technical Director for the Center for Army Analysis. Dr. Stoddard’s prior service included various operational and strategic assignments in the Operations Analysis Functional Area and tactical assignments as an Armor officer.
