Visitors can visit Fort Sam’s historic Quadrangle, which is the second oldest military facility in the city. The Fort Sam Houston Museum is nearby, which tells the tale of the evolution of the army in San Antonio, beginning with the establishment of the post in 1845. San Antonio is proud to welcome the families of the 39,000 students who graduate from military training here each year; because for the city, training, equipping, and caring for America’s service members is a way of life.
